Beijing Hyundai may establish new factory in Chongqing

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai November 1) - Beijing Hyundai's fourth production site may end up be located in Chongqing's Liangjiang New Area, the International Finance News reported today. Representatives from the joint venture mention that discussions with government officials have reached a new stage.

Although Beijing Hyundai officials have not acknowledged the construction of a fourth production site in China, several in the media have noted that the JV has been looking for new opportunities to expand in the country. Last year JV officials expressed concerns regarding its limited production capabilities in the country.

In addition to Beijing Hyundai, SAIC-GM-Wuling and FAW Group have also expressed interest in establishing facilities in Chongqing's Liangjiang New Zone.
