Gasgoo.com (Shanghai July 29) - Shanghai General Motors has plans to introduce a new Buick SUV next year, Beijing News reported today. The new SUV, which will make its debut before the end of the year, will be placed between the Enclave and Encore models. The news marks the first time that Shanghai GM has announced a debut time for a new SUV model.

Shanghai GM's Buick brand currently sells two SUVs in China, the imported Enclave and domestically manufactured Encore. The new model, which is reported to be a compact SUV, will help fill a gap for Buick in China. The new SUV will take Buick one step closer to completing its product lineup for China.

Aside from a newly updated Regal, a new Excelle convertible is also in the works.
