Great Wall Haval H8 ready for official market release
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai March 26) - Due to continuous technical problems, the official market release of the Great Wall Haval H8 has been delayed again and again. In a report appearing in the Beijing Times today, Great Wall confirmed that it is working with its auto part supplier ZF Friedrichshafen to resolve problems with the SUV. After a long amount of inspection, testing and verification work, the problem has been completely resolved, meaning that the Haval H8 will be ready for its official market launch at next month’s Auto Shanghai exhibition.
Great Wall has been resting a lot of its hopes on the Haval H8 (pictured), pricing information of which was officially released in November 2013. However, due to various quality issues with auto parts, the official release of the vehicle has been constantly put on hold. As late as last year reports were still surfacing regarding unusual noises from the vehicle’s powertrain when it was driven at highway speeds.
Due to its constantly delayed launch date, Great Wall saw its stock price perform poorly last year. The news also put into question the independent research and development capability of domestic own brand manufacturers. It certainly will not be easy for Great Wall to repeat the success of the Haval H6 with the new H8.
