The subordinate business changing of Great Wall might lead to the independent operation of Haval

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai May 14th) –On May 8th, Great Wall Automotive announced the name of its sub-company Nuobo rubber products would be changed to Haval automobile company, adding related business of automobile and spare parts.

Before this, the independent sales company of Havel brand from GWA had been established, which means more independent operation of Haval together with the name change.

There has no official comments for this name change from GWA but auto analysts figure it might lead to real independent business of Havel brand. As reporter knows, there are several sub-companies of GWA for Haval brand, including Nuobo rubber products. The establishment of Havel automobile company also means GWA plans to invest more in SUV business.

After the independence of SUV brand Havel from GWA in 2013, the resources of production and R&D kept being transferred to this brand and the sales volume of Havel also kept increasing, and had become key factor of GWA auto sales volume.

In accordance with the data from GWA, the sales volume of Haval in first 4 months of 2015 are 218,500, increasing by 93.47% YoY, occupying 72.15% of total GWA auto sales volume. The data of GWA saloon car is 22,600, declining by 54.6% YoY.

Auto analysts figure GWA might cooperate with other auto enterprises on saloon car business. Some media reported before Volkswagen was one of possible choices.

But the chairman of GWA said they would insist independent development and no plan for joint venture. The chairman also figures the independence of Havel might lead to the lack of core property of GWA so it is hard to realize in future several years.
