Toyota FJ CRUISER come to China in late 2007
At the Shanghai Auto Show, Toyota displayed the FJ CRUISER for the first time in China. Toyota Motor Corporation's vice president said the model will be launched in China by the end of this year, Toyota and its joint venture companies in China will launch at least a total of four new models this year. Toyota's FJCruiser is to commemorate the FJ40 launched in 2002.
It is FJ CRUISER's debut at the show in China.
In 1950, Toyota launched the first 4 × 4 AK10 crossover, powered by a B series engine, the model has been named "BJ." From 1954, the BJ series has been named the LandCruiser series. In 1955, LandCruiser was powered by an advanced F-series engine, so it was known as the "FJ." Toyota FJCruiser is to commemorate the FJ40 launched in 2002.
FJCruiser carries many retro elements; it is equipped with a 4.0 or V6 engine, maximum horsepower of 239, and the acrotorque is 38.4 kgm, 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive are optional for consumers.
FJCruiser has not been introduced to China; however, it is on sale at some FAW Toyota dealership, priced at 630,000 Yuan.
