Shaanxi Auto Group exporting technology to India

On June 18, Chairman of Shaanxi Automobile Group Co., Ltd Zhang Yupu signed an export contract with Anirudh, CEO of Indian AMW Motors, in Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, stating that Hande Axle Company will export axle technology to India AMW Motors Company. This agreement marks the first time a Chinese auto assembly company is exporting technology to other countries.
 
According to the contract, the Indian AMW company will set up a plant in India with an annual production capacity of 120,000 units. Hande Axle company will assist AMW plant in improving the plant's manufacturing process in addition to transferring the advanced axcle technology to AMW. It is planned that AMW will initially import CBU (completely buildup) axle and then gradually produce SKD (semi-knocked down) / CKD ( complete knocked down). Hande company is not only commited to assisiting AMW in producing axles in India, it will also help the AMW company to develop axle products suited for local market.
 
Shaanxi Hande Axle Company was co-established by Shaanxi Auto Group and Weichai Power, whose predecessor was Shaanxi Auto Axle Plant.

Indian AMW Motors is one of India's leading private companies; it is a wholly-owned subsidiary of an investment company, specialising in heavy commercial vehicles and auto parts production, its heavy truck business accounts for 70% of the Indian market share.
