Chery signs up six Fortune 500 partners

After Chery Automobile signed an official agreement with Chrysler on the 4th of July, the largest independent Chinese automaker moved on to woo and win six Fortune 500 enterprises as its partners.

Through cooperation with these Fortune 500 enterprises, either in the form of joint venture, original equipment manufacturers (OEM)licensing or parts supplying, Chery aims to improve its R&D and quality control, said Yin Tongyao, President and General Manager of Chery Automobile. Mr. Yin inked a deal with Chrysler Group President and CEO Tom LaSorda in Beijing, according to which, Chrysler will export Chery-made vehicles under the Dodge and Chrysler brand.

Prior to this, Chery had a deal with Italian automaker Fiat to supply its engines. Apart from the cooperation with whole-car companies, Chery also have sign cooperation deals with Johnson Controls, Delphi and also PPG Group, an auto coating expert. Chery also develops special oil for automobile with ExxonMobil Chemical.
