Hyundai Matrix to re-enter China

Matrix, a Hyundai MPV model, will re-enter the Chinese market next year. The MPV model will use Huatai brand, a partner of Hyundai based in Shandong Province, the company announced Corp recently.

The new Matrix will be assembled in the Huatai Auto plant in Rongcheng City, Shandong Province and is expected to be launched next year. This is the third model introduced from Hyundai Motors; the first two are Terracan and Senta Fe.

"The new Matrix will be priced at about RMB100,000,"said a Huatai dealer. "It will compete with Nissan LIVINA and Hainan Mazda Premacy."

Currently, Hyundai has three partners in China: Beijing Auotmobile, Huatai Automobile and JAC.
