Toyota Corolla sold 7,049 units in Chinese market in July

Shanghai. August 24 (Gasgoo.com) - Toyota Corolla sold 7,049 units in Chinese market in July, outperforming all competitors in China's A segment market, according to a company official.

"Corolla's performance are still limited by its production capacity to some extent, but this situation will be improved after FAW Toyota's third plant goes into full operation in the fourth quarter, " said Wang Fachang, executive vice president of FAW Toyota Motor Sales Co., Ltd. (FTMS) 

Toyota's competitive rivals, including Honda Civic, VW Sagitar and Skoda Octavia, all saw sales  below 7,000-units in July. Auto analysts say Corolla's high cost performance and customer-oriented after-sales services have contributed to its success.

Earlier reports said last month Toyota Motor's Corolla model topped Japanese vehicle sales in Japanese auto market in July for ten consecutive months, after the company revamped the model in October for the first time in six years.

Toyota also took second place with the Vitz compact car and Honda Motor's Fit compact was ranked third in Japanese market in July.

Toyota, which sells 4 out of every 10 vehicles in Japan, owns four car models out of top ten best selling models in Japanese auto market in July.
