Brilliance Zunchi (BS6) wins three stars in Euro NCAP Crash Test

Shanghai. September 13 (Gasgoo.com) - China's Brilliance Zunchi (known as BS6 abroad) sedan has won three stars in the Euro NCAP Crash Test conducted by the Automobile Applied Research Institute (IDIADA) test center in Spain last week, state media Xinhua reported today.

The report says that this is the best results that Chinese homegrown automakers have achieved in the Euro NCAP Crash Test, which will enable Brilliance Auto to expand operations in the Europe and north America market.

The Zunchi (BS6) sedan has achieved decent results in both the head-on and the side-on/pillar crash. The sedan’s four doors can open smoothly after the car hits a deformable barrier. Child safety is also proved satisfactory.

The overall result is attributable to the coordinated constructions on the model's A-pillar, B-pillar, side walls, frontal section, rear section and the roof. Brilliance Auto has equipped the sedan with more safety devices, including EDS, front airbags as well as side airbags, safety belts with belt latch tensioners.

Zunchi (BS6) hit a bumpy road in the crash test using Euro NCAP guidelines at the ADAC test center in German this June. Following the failure, the company has determined to improve its safety features through cooperation with renowned auto safety test institutions and has achieved some key progress in its model lineup.

Brilliance launched the BS6 in Europe at March's Geneva Motor Show (Switzerland) and has reached a deal with HSO Motors Europe, which will sell Brilliance cars in Europe. The company hopes to export its BS6 D-segment sedans to the U.S. market by early 2008, the company said.
