China:Total sales of 6.27M engines '06

According to latest statistics of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in 2006, the output and sales of vehicle engines by 49 auto engine enterprises surveyed amounted to 6,270,900 engines and 620.90 million with a YoY growth of 33.12% and 31.41% respectively. This growth was higher than the previous year's of 24.47% and 2. 42%. The engine production with absolute increase of 1,560,000 was more than the complete vehicle's.

By the end of 2006, in the production of the 49 vehicle engines enterprises, the first 15 are as follows: Dongfeng Company, Liuzhou Wuling, Changan Group, Guangxi Yuchai, FAW-VW, Beijing Hyundai, Harbin Dongan autos, Shanghai VW, Chery Automobile, Shanghai GM, FAW Group, Kunming Yunnei, Shenlong automobiles, Tianjin FAW Toyota and Guangzhou Toyota.

In addition, Diesel's performance in 2006 has returned to rise. The output and sales volume were 1,548,600 and 1,530,000, respectively increased by 21.55% and 20.23% YoY.

Among the first 15, Liuzhou Wuling engine jump to No.2 from No.4 with more than 430,000 outputs with YoY growth of 51% in 2006. And Kunming Yunnei, Guangxi Yuchai, the two only doing the diesel business have maintained in the first 15 for years. The output of 350,000 and 200,000 are even more than some gasoline engine manufacturers'.
