Exhibitor spotlight – Webasto AG, Germany

“As the world's leading manufacturer of roof and temperature management systems, we are proud to present our products for the first time at the Automechanika Shanghai this year,” says Ms Claudia Allegrini of German manufacturer Webasto AG, who are exhibiting in China for the first time in 2007.

“For many years, the Automechanika in Germany has proved to be a successful formula and a valuable platform for introducing existing and new products to our customers. Based on this, we trust the Automechanika Shanghai to be a significant instrument to enforce our presence on the Chinese market. For more than 100 years we have addressed every aspect of vehicle usage with solutions to increase comfort – through heating, cooling and offering light and fresh air. With the exhibits on our booth, we will prove once again to our Chinese and international customers that we do not only offer single products, but a complete solution ensuring climate comfort,” adds Allegrini.

Exhibitor spotlight – Schaeffler Group Automotive Business Unit Aftermarket, Germany

The Schaeffler Group Automotive will also join Automechanika Shanghai for the first time in 2007, when they will present their Business Unit Aftermarket. “As a technology and service provider for passenger cars, commercial vehicles and agricultural tractors in the independent aftermarket, Schaeffler considers Automechanika as an important platform to present three competence areas: drive technology, engine parts and chassis applications,” says Schaeffler’s Chris Wen.

As an aftermarket specialist, Schaeffler Group Automotive Business Unit Aftermarket offers a complete range of clutches and clutch system solutions, as well as vacuum- and power steering pumps from LuK. This range is complemented by engine and gearbox components from INA, and a comprehensive range of wheel bearings by FAG.

“The Chinese market and Shanghai, as the most developed city and one of the centres for the automotive aftermarket business, are doubtlessly a focus of the Schaeffler Group Automotive Business Unit Aftermarket. The company’s main objective at Automechanika Shanghai is to enhance its image in the independent automotive aftermarket and to present its high-tech products and services,” says Wen.

Exhibitor spotlight – Snap-on, USA

Snap-on, founded in 1920, is a leading global innovator, manufacturer and marketer of tools and undercar equipment. A long time exhibitor of Automechanika fairs around the world, Snap-on will exhibit at the Shanghai show for the second time in 2007.

“China is the world’s second largest car market, but after-sales service is still at an infant stage,” says Ms Vicki Li of Snap-on in Shanghai. “The car market is booming here. China is entering a phase for quality automotive repairs. In the past few years, Snap-on has introduced a range of affordable world-class undercar equipment and tools that will improve productivity and may change the landscape of the auto repairs industry.”

“Our objective for Automechanika Shanghai this year, is to raise awareness of safety and productivity importance. To this end, we will exhibit our main product lines in China, all with world class quality. Despite being a relative late-comer to the China market, Snap-on’s sales have been growing tremendously and we are now qualified for almost all major brands in China. China will soon be the largest automotive market in the world, and the service repairs industry will grow quickly, with a greater awareness of quality and productivity,” adds Li.
