Changan car sales reach 2.78 million in 2015 in China

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai Jan 8) - Changan’s last December car sales advanced 17.18% from a year earlier to 244,109 units, propelling the overall car sales in 2015 reaching 2.78 million units, up 9.14% year on year. The rebounding momentum in December following October and November balanced the slowdown of third quarter for the manufacture last year.

In December, the independent brand car models continued to be in great demand. EADO (with XT) sold 14,182 units, soaring 38.21% on a year-on-year basis. Model CS75 toped monthly sales record selling 20,300 vehicles, 1.2 times more than that of a year earlier. CS35 sales in the single month also jumped to 12,433 units, 1.16 times that of 2014.

Meanwhile its joint-ventures Changan Ford and Changan Mazda also made great contribution, the former selling 97,041 vehicles in December, 34.55% year-on-year growth, while the latter expanding sales 19.41% form a year earlier to 9,940 units. Changan Suzuki’s sales, however, declined 18.89% undergoing capacity reduction.In December, Changan’s alternative energy vehicles sold 3,334 units, adding up to whole year sales of 8,655 vehicles in 2015.
