China’s Government to investigate on acquisition between DiDi Chuxing and Uber China
Gasgoo (Shanghai, September 5)—Di Di Chuxing, the largest transportation platform in China, hasn’t made governmental application for its acquisition with Uber China, on which China’s government has made investigation.
Shen Danyang, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce of China, has replied to issues attracting attentions from media at home and abroad on the press conference. The Ministry of Commerce has investigating the acquisition case in accordance with laws and regulations, for which the Anti-monopoly Bureau has required meeting with top managements of Di Di Chuxing twice.
Di Di Chuxing announced to achieve strategic agreement with Uber, leading to acquisition of asset of Uber China, on August 1, 2016. Then, both parties completed registration procedures for equity alteration on August 2. However, there has no any application for the acquisition.
China’s government may keep eyes on the investigation to guarantee fairness in the marketplace and rights of people in the country.
