Polk to release commercial vehicle data for China

Shanghai, March 31, 2008 (Gasgoo.com) RL Polk & Co., the premier provider of automotive information and marketing solutions, recently announced the availability of 2007 and newer commercial vehicle registration data for China at the 2008 Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS). Scheduled for availability this summer, Polk's unique China data will provide geographic and vehicle configuration detail, allowing customers to maximize their sales opportunities by better understanding the market in China for commercial vehicles.

This comprehensive offering from Beijing Polk-CATARC VIC Co., Ltd., a joint venture between R. L. Polk & Co. and the Chinese Automotive Technology and Research Centre (CATARC), will provide valuable geographic metrics on commercial vehicle registrations in China by province, city, district and postcode to commercial truck and engine manufacturers and other customers in the commercial vehicle segment. Previously, only national level sales and production data was available.

Polk's China registration data encompasses all types of commercial vehicles including buses, trucks and special vehicles such as ambulances, police vehicles, cranes, firefighter engines. Many additional detailed vehicle specifications will be available including gross vehicle weight, vehicle dimensions, dimension of cargo, payload, towing weight, wheelbase, engine model, engine displacement, fuel type, number of wheels and tire type.
