Mercedes-Benz to sell GLK SUV soon in China, CEO says

Shanghai, April 21 (Gasgoo.com) The chairman of Daimler, Dieter Zetsche, announced on Sunday that his company's Mercedes-Benz division would begin exporting GLK midsize luxury SUV to China soon, and emphasized that sales of Mercedes SUV in China had doubled last year.

According to a company press release, the model on display was the GLK 350 powered by Mercedes-Benz's 3.5-litre V6 gasoline (petrol) engine which develops 268 bhp.

The model features distinctive and angular styling and will be offered with both Mercedes's 4MATIC four-wheel drive transmission and a two-wheel drive transmission layout. It also features a number of electronic driving aids, including Mercedes-Benz's electronic stability control and 4ETS traction management system.

The model is also likely to be available at a later date with Mercedes-Benz's revised 2.2-litre diesel engine unit and the company's 3.2-litre diesel.
