Sichuan nine automobile manufacturers have been eligible for exports

From March 1, vehicle manufacturers with export licenses are permitted to run motor products export business. It is learned from Sichuan Commerce Department that nine enterprises such as FAW Toyota Motor Co. Ltd., FAW Bus (Chengdu) Ltd. are eligible for auto production export .

On December 31, 2006, the Ministry of Commerce, the SDRC, the General Administration of Customs, General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine jointly issued a notice that vehicle products (including passenger cars, commercial vehicles and chassis parts) will be managed under the export license system from March 1, 2007.

It is learned that China's auto exports reached 340,000 vehicles in 2006, an increase of 100% year-on-year. But with the ever increasing export volume, the qualities of China made cars are becoming of great concern. An official from Sichuan Commerce Department analyze that it is mainly because domestic enterprises pursue quantity but not quality. The aim of export license management is to rectify and standardize the order of export car and promote the healthy development of China's automobile industry.
