Shanghai, June 2 (Gasgoo.com) FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co. Ltd has announced a recall of 178,731 units of its A4, A6 and A6L model due to ignition coil problems.

In a filing to China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the automaker said that the affected vehicles were equipped with defective ignition coil that leaves the cars prone to sudden power losses and potential engine damage.

The affected vehicles were produced from January 2001 to October 2006. Six accidents because of the defect have been reported. Those customers with the problems can go to any Audi authorized dealer to replace the ignition coil.
