Cummins businesses in China see rapid growth

Source from Cummins(China)Investment Co.,Ltd said sales of the global famous engine maker Cummins exceeded $ 1 billion for three consecutive years, making China the largest oversea market  with most remarkable growth for Cummins.

Cummins sales in China top $ 1 billion in 2006, the third consecutive year for this growth. Cummins has established a research center with Dongfeng Motor last August which is the first venture foreign diesel engine enterprise built in China. The company also set up a JV with Beiqi Foton Motor in Beijing to make 2.8- and 3.8 liter diesel engines for truck, pickup, SUV, MPV and other off-road equipments, eyeing the potential China diesel engine market.

Currently Cummins have more than 20 facilities, including 10 manufacturing sites in China to produce engines, power generation equipment, filters, exhaust system and other parts.
