Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Struggles for 700K Sales in 2017 with 4 Plants Totaled 840K Capacity

SHANGHAI February 9th, 2017 Gasgoo – In 2016, Automobile Company Ltd has sold 600.2 thousand units cars in total, a year-on-year decline of 14.77%; among which Dongfeng Peugeot was sold 349.2 thousand units, while Dongfeng Citroen was sold 251 thousand units with 15.8% decreased year over year. This year, Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen plans to sell 666 thousand units and struggling for 700 thousand units, which means a 16.6% surge comparing with that of 2016. The Peugeot and Citroen brands plans to list 7 new cars to achieve this goal.

This year, 7 brand new SUVs lead by Dongfeng Peugeot 5008 and Dongfeng Citroen C84 will go on the market successively. Peugeot 5008 is the first 7-seat SUV of Dongfeng Peugeot, which has a length of 4640mm and a wheelbase of 2840mm, with 2+3+2 layout for seats. Dongfeng Peugeot 5008 and Citroen C84 are both produced based on EMP2 platform, and are expected to adopt the designing elements from Citroen AirCross concept car.

In last September, the fourth vehicle plant of Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen in Chengdu was finished and put into operation. Dongfeng Peugeot 5008, Dongfeng Citroen C84 and other high-end SUVs, MPVs of Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen will all be produced here in the future. The total annual capacity of Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen’s four plants can be 840 thousand units at that time, which will provide guarantee for its’ 700-thousand-unit sales target.
