Geely August sales soared 80 percent

Shanghai (GASGOO)-It seems that 2017 is a special year for Zhejiang Geely Holding Group for it saw its acquisition of Proton, a joint venture with Volvo and America’s approval of its acquiring the flying car startup Terrafugia. Besides, from the beginning of this year, its sales remain robust.

According to the released sales data, Geely’s August sales jumped 80 percent year on year to 96,505 units, which is 20,000 units more than that of Great Wall Motor. Last month, the Group’s total sales volume in China market was 94,451 units, an increase of 85 percent. In the first eight months of 2017, Geely delivered 718,236 units, with a significant year-on-year increase of 88 percent and that accounted for 65% of the annually sales target of 1.1 million units.

In August, New Emgrand and Vision are two main sales drivers, whose sales are respectively 20,936 units and 11,025 units. The company delivered 10,926 Emgrand GLs. The sales of Geely NL3, a SUV model, reached 22,037 units, the best monthly sales performance. Its first crossover model Emgrand GS delivered 13,053 units in August. Last month, Emgrand EV, one of the most important electric models in China, achieved a sales volume of 4,144 units.
