Honda cooperating with China's IT solution supplier Neusoft

Shanghai(Gasgoo)- Honda Motor Co. will collaborate with Neusoft to develop core technology for EV and will bring its electric car to China in 2018, Honda China executive officer Yasuhide Mizuno said at the 2017 International Forum (TEDA) on Chinese Automotive Industry Development.

Yasuhide Mizuno said at the forum held in Tianjin that China plays a leading role in the development of IT, vehicle on-board technology and connectivity. With the purpose to cope with new changes in auto industry, Honda is making every effort to strengthen its EV development system. For the changing biggest auto market China, Honda decided to cooperate with Neusoft, a leading IT solution supplier and service provider based in China, to develop technologies in areas such as battery management, cloud management of vehicle data and connectivity.

In order to promote its new energy vehicle business and produce battery system, Neusoft once announced it planned to invest 150 million yuan to set up a new company. The new company will focus on new energy vehicle battery system, including the development and manufacturing of battery pack. Its battery pack production line is the first one in China.

Hongda Zheng, analyst at Haitong Securities, a leading security company in China, pointed out that Neusoft, as a leading company in automotive electronics field, has sound experience and its business cover every segment of the field, such as vehicle intelligent connected system and driving assistance system. What’s more, Neusoft managed to develop its own battery management system, pack and intelligent charging station.

At the forum, Yasuhide Mizuno said Honda would introduce a new China-exclusive electric vehicle model and it will go on sale in 2018. The model will be developed jointly by GAC Honda Automobile Co., Ltd., Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co., Ltd. and Honda Motor China Technology Co., Ltd. The products will be introduced under the brand names of both GAC Honda and Dongfeng Honda.
