Geely releases Lynk&Co’s product plan and will launch flying cars
Shanghai(Gasgoo)-On Nov. 11, Li Shufu, Chairman of Geely Automobile delivered a speech on 2017 Global Future Mobility Forum. He said that Volvo is the first automaker who proposes to mass produce the autonomous cars in 2020. Partnering with Autoliv and Waymo, Volvo plays an important role in the development of autonomous driving. What's more, Volvo's cooperation with the parts supplier, Autoliv and the car hailing platform, Uber will vigorously promote the development of autonomous driving.He also added that they are expected to put around 10,000 autonomous cars jointly developed by Uber and Volvo into American market next year.
Li Shufu also added that Geely and Volvo and other large carmakers in the world are jointly developing an open pure electric modular architecture, PMA platform, to facilitate the development of electric vehicles in both China and the world. Now, Volvo adopts its highly automated driving technology, Pilot Assist on the mass produced model, the new XC90, and another model, the Volvo S90 features Volvo's latest autonomous driving system, the Pilot Assist Ⅱ.
During his speech, Li Shufu also first released Lynk&Co's product plans, including A+/B-class pure electric sedan and crossover, A+/B-class pure electric SUV, and a pure electric urban scooter and a purer electric family crossover. At present, Lynk&Co will firstly launch a pure electric A+/B-class urban crossover with a range of 600km and later will release a pure A0-class urban crossover with a range of 450km. At the meantime, based on PMA platform, Geely will release a pure electric A+-class crossover with a range of 500km.
Breathtakingly, Having invested heavily on flying cars, Geely is slated to release its first flying car in 2019 in America, and vertical takeoff and landing flying cars in 2023, which will ease the traffic jam to some extent.
In order to make a breakthrough in autonomous driving technology, Volvo had partnered with several companies like Ericsson, Baidu, Tencent, China Unicom, AutoNavi and Douban, building an intelligent automotive ecosystem based on the Internet, connected cars, Internet of things and big data.
