500,000 cars: Trumpchi marches to new sales record 2017

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- According to statistics, the cumulative vehicle sales of GAC Trumpchi (Trumpchi) exceeded 460 thousand units with a year-on-year growth of 38.9%. The overall annual sales of Trumpchi in 2017 are expected to reach 500 thousand units.

GS4's sales had exceeded 760 thousand units since it went to market for sale. In the first 11 months of 2017, the monthly sales volume of GS8 in October and November were both over 10 thousand units. Sedans also did impressive performances. GA6 continuously kept in the front row among all Chinese auto models. GA8 ranked first among C-class luxury sedans of China's brands.

Trumpchi is keeping to enlarge its annual production capacity. There was only one vehicle plant in Panyu District of Guangdong Province before with an annual production capacity of 500 thousand units. On December 26, the plant of Guangzhou Automobile Motor (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd (hereinafter, GAC Motor Hangzhou) went into operation which raises Trumpchi's annual production capacity to 700 thousand units with a growth of 40% from a year earlier. 

Apart from Panyu plant and Hangzhou plant , it is reported that two new plants will be put into production in future. The plant in Urumqi of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, designed to produce 100 thousand units annually, will go into operation in January 2018 with the focus of producing medium and high-end SUVs and new energy vehicles. The project of the plant in Yichang of Hubei Province will be officially launched in the first month of 2018 with a designed annual production capacity of 200,000 vehicles.
