Bosch, Banma build strategic partnership to develop ICV solutions
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On March 18, Bosch and Banma, a Chinese Internet vehicle solution supplier signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Shanghai. Both parties will develop cooperation in such areas as Internet connection, in-vehicle infotainment system, intelligent human-machine interaction, vehicle fleet management and mobility travelling to jointly explore the solutions available for China's traffic and travelling scenarios in the future.
To be specific, Bosch will provide Banma with its professional cognitive experiences in vehicle-mounted technology, other auto areas and the technologically advanced multimedia softwares and hardwares. Bosch has been working on developing intelligent solutions that integrate systems of entertainment, navigation and remote information processing and driver assistance system with the vehicle. In the future, Bosch's new human-machine interaction technology that features the all-new digital display, speech assistant and tactile feedback device will help drivers be more attentive on the road conditions as well as enhance the driving safety and convenience.
At BCW 2018 (Bosch Connected World 2018), Bosch announced to set up a new intelligent connection unit to keep promoting its transition from a product supplier to an intelligent traffic service supplier. The new unit will focus on developing and selling digitized traffic services with over 600 staffs.
Banma is invested by the Internet vehicle fund jointly built by Alibaba and SAIC Motor. Its ICV (intelligent-connected vehicle) open platform based on Alibaba's AliOS called Banma Zhixing can provide a series of functions and services such as localization, payment, AI speech interaction and cloud computing, etc.
On July 6, 2016, SAIC Motor's Roewe RX5, which was considered the world's first “Internet vehicle”, hit the market, carrying the Banma Zhixing system. After that, Banma Zhixing has been commercially used in Roewe eRX5, Roewe i6, MG ZS, etc.
Besides, Banma has formed cooperative relationships with Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Company LTD (DPCA) and Ford Motor. Meanwhile, it installed the Banma Zhixing system in its partners' models.
Reportedly, under the cooperation of Bosch and Banma, some concrete projects are on the way of implementation. In the future, both parties will actively explore more cooperative fields, such as V2X, vehicle-to-vehicle communication, human-machine synergy and autonomous driving, etc.
