Chery Holding July sales jump 26.5% year on year, NEV YTD sales skyrocket 229.9%
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Chery Holding Group reported a year-on-year sales jump of 26.5% with 55,880 vehicles delivered in July. For the first seven months, the group handed over a total of 399,000 vehicles by far this year.
Chery Automobile Co.,Ltd, a major subsidiary of Chery Holding, saw its July car sales leap 25.3% from a year ago to 45,569 units, among which 37,480 units were fossil fuel-powered vehicles. From January to July, the cumulative sales of fossil fuel-powered vehicles amounted to around 249,000 units, over 70% of sales target (350,000 units) having been completed.
As to specific models, the sales of the Tiggo 8 reached 6,051 units last month. In the first half of this year, the aggregate sales of the Arrizo 5, the Tiggo 3 and the Tiggo 5 were 53,500 units, 50,200 units and 44,100 units respectively.
In July, the automaker's NEV sales skyrocketed 147.8% over the previous year to 8,089 units. By the end of July, 41,452 NEVs were handed over so far this year with a striking year-on-year growth of 229.9%, exceeding the whole NEV sales of 37,000 units in 2017.
In addition, the automaker's export volume in July and for the first seven months reached 11,447 units and 80,476 units respectively, jumping 27% and 27.1% compared with the year-ago period.
Reportedly, Chery Automobile is going to launch the all-new compact sedan Arrizo GX in October, priced between RMB 80,000 and RMB 100,000. Moreover, the other SUV model code-named T19, sitting slightly below the existing Tiggo 5x, will go on sale in the fourth quarter of the year.
