Chery Holding reports H1 sales reaching 325,000 units
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Chery Holding sold a total of 325,000 vehicles for the first half of 2019, the group said on July 4.
For the first six months, the vehicle sales of Chery's self-owned brands amounted to 285,000 units, rising 8.5% over the previous year.
The mainstay models under the ARRIZO and the Tiggo series have been successfully refreshed to comply with the China Stage 6 Emission Standard. Such newcomers as the all-new Tiggo 8, the Tiggo 5 x HERO and the ARRIZO 5/GX Pro all satisfy the new emission standard, Chery said.
Chery's NEV sales also represented a positive growth. The 100,000th Chery eQ1 BEV rolled off the production line in Wuhu on June 24, only 28 months after the EV model hit the market. Besides, the 2019 Chery eQ1 went on sale on June 28 and the ARRIZO 5e BEVs have also been exported to Central & South American markets.
Jetour, a car brand launched in January 2018 by Chery Holding under Chery Commercial Vehicle, sold 55,000 vehicles from January to June with only three models—the X70, the X70S and the X90.
From the time being, Jetour has planned 11 NEV models in total—the PHEV, BEV and FCV versions for the X70, the X70S and the X90, as well as the PHEV and BEV versions of the Jetour X95 flagship SUV, according to a local media outlet. Of that, the X70S EV, which is to hit the market in the second half of the year, will come out in the first place. (Photo source: Chery Holding's press release)
