FAW’s Hongqi reports best-ever monthly sales

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Hongqi, the state-owned FAW Group's premium auto brand, chose to announce its all-time high sales performance on the last day of October.

In the past month, Hongqi achieved its highest-ever monthly sales with a total of 11,880 vehicles sold, a splendid year-on-year growth of 188%. As of October, the luxury car brand has seen its sales volume exceed 10,000 units for three consecutive months.

Besides, year-to-date sales of Hongqi-branded vehicles skyrocketed 217% from a year ago to 75,520 units, completing 75.52% of the 100,000-unit annual sales goal.

The FAW-owned brand currently has six models available for sale, not only covering car and SUV sectors, but also tapping the BEV field. Obviously, the surging sales volume is part of fruits from Hongqi's active roll-out of new products. The automaker put two SUV models—the HS5 and the HS7—onto the market in May and July. In mid-August, Hongqi's first all-electric model, the E-HS3 SUV—formally hit the market.

At the IAA Frankfurt 2019, Hongqi offered the world the first glimpse of the S9, a supercar boasting a top speed of 400km/h and acceleration of 0-100km/h in 1.9 seconds.

In the meantime, the automaker also unveiled its first flagship full-size all-electric SUV, the Hongqi E115. The all-new BEV has a range of over 600km and is able to sprint from 0-100km/h within four seconds. Notably, it is said to carry a level 4 autonomous driving system. According to FAW Group, the E115 will be showed off at the Auto Guangzhou this month.
