Lynk & Co ZERO Concept’s mass-produced version goes into trial production

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- The mass-produced vehicle of the ZERO Concept, the first full-electric vehicle model (BEV) of Geely Auto's Lynk & Co brand, has gone into trial production and is expected for sale in the second half of 2021, according to a local media outlet.

Lynk & Co offered the first glimpse of the concept at the Auto China 2020. The premium BEV will be based on Geely Holding's Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA), an all-electric architecture used as the basis for all new electric vehicles within Geely Holding Group's portfolio. Additionally, the SEA is designed to be the world's first open source architecture that will be shared with third-party automakers. 

The ZERO Concept recalls the very first concept under Lynk & Co, the CCC. At the front, the upright fascia and high-mounted running lamps are seen on all Lynk & Co models. The headlights that somewhat hidden in the grille stretching across the front width, below which is a smaller textured grille. The blocky fascia is quite trendy in BEV models.

Using the SEA architecture, the ZERO Concept features a well-proportioned body with low overhangs for both the front and the rear, a dynamic sporting profile, and a wheelbase spanning up to 2,999mm.

Sustainability is the key in the design strategy of the ZERO Concept. The cabin pieces are made of Econyl from recycled fishing lines, an environmentally friendly and recyclable sort of material.

The vehicle is likely to come with two drivetrain solutions based on the number of electric motors. The dual-motor-powered one can accelerate zero to 100km/h within four seconds. Range of the production vehicle is expected to exceed 700km under the NEDC cycle thanks to a 100kWh battery pack.
