Chery-PPG Color Creation Lab Officially Unveiled: Pioneering a New Era of Automotive Color Technology in China

On May 27th, the color creation lab jointly established by Chery Automobile and PPG was officially unveiled in Wuhu. Yin Tongyue, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Chery Holdings Group, and Vincent Robin, Global Vice President of PPG Automotive Coatings, led the Chery executive team and PPG global and Asia-Pacific management teams to witness the laboratory unveiling and sign a memorandum of cooperation.

As the world's first digital color laboratory jointly established by an automaker and a coatings supplier, the Chery-PPG Digital Color Laboratory's main functions include research and analysis of global color trends, surveys of color preferences among Chinese automotive consumers, exterior color design for vehicle bodies and components, vehicle rendering and digital color review and so on. Menta Federico, PPG's Global Director of Basecoat Products, explained, "Through the digital color development and review system, the laboratory is able to quickly develop and evaluate visual color schemes for Chery vehicles, improve development efficiency, accelerate color iterations, and achieve consumer co-creation to better meet consumers' personalized and differentiated color aesthetic needs.
