Geely Automobile scores 21% YoY jump in Aug. 2024 vehicle sales
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Geely Automobile Holdings Limited (the "Company", together with its subsidiaries, the "Group") announced that the Group sold a total of 181,229 vehicles in the month of August 2024, representing a year-on-year jump of 21%.

Of the vehicles the Group sold last month, new energy vehicles accounted for a sales volume of 75,484 units, which zoomed up 65% over a year ago. To be specific, the August sales of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) stood at 47,042 units and 28,442 units, surging 56% and 82% from the year-ago period, respectively.
In addition, the Group exported 45,045 vehicles last month, logging a 98% robust hike year-on-year.
For the first eight months of 2024, Geely Automobile saw its cumulative vehicle sales jump 34% over a year earlier to 1,287,741 units. Of those, its NEV sector recorded a sales volume of 454,720 units, which soared 97% from a year ago. The year-to-date export volume came in at 274,855 units, shooting up 71% compared to the prior-year period.
Breaking down the August sales by specific brands and product ranges, there were 140,686 vehicles under the Geely brand sold last month, showing a 19% year-over-year increase. Of those, 26,510 units came from the brand's new energy vehicle range Galaxy, demonstrating a year-on-year hike of 138%. What's more, ZEEKR and Lynk & Co brands boasted year-on-year increases of 46% and 20% with 18,015 and 22,528 vehicles sold, respectively.
