Wuhu auto parts export value reach 300 million dollars in '06

As an auto parts and accessories base, Wuhu has become an export-oriented industrial city in China. Totally 56 automakers at Wuhu were tapping overseas markets in 2006, with a transaction volume increase by 157.5% to 331 million dollars.

Thanks to the contribution from Chery, Wuhu thrives despite the fierce competition facing the auto industry. Chery's exported 50,038 vehicles last year, account for more than 50% of the total sedan export volume in China. Non-state Ruijiang Automobile of Wuhu has exported vehicles to Kazakhstan, Holland, etc as well as develop high-tech sample models for Japan.

Wuhu Siemens VDO Automotive continues to explore markets in Japan and South Korea to provide auto parts for Suzuki, Nissan and Hyundai, following export on the European market. The export volume was 17.5 million for the full year. Other Wuhu auto parts enterprises also produce precise bearings for transmissions of PSA BEMA model and regulating rings for clutches of Eaton Corporation.
