Singulato Motors selects NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Xavier platform for next-generation autonomous vehicle
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Singulato Motors will use NVIDIA's DRIVE AGX Xavier AI chip to develop its next-generation autonomous vehicles, the Beijing-based EV startup announced at NVIDIA's GPU Technology Conference (GTC) in China on November 21.
Powered by the high-performance computing capability and safety of NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Xavier, the startup aims to complete the R&D of Level 3 autonomous driving technologies next year and make the mass-produced achievement run on road in 2020.
The open, scalable DRIVE AGX Xavier platform achieves an unprecedented 30 trillion operations per seconds (TOPS) of performance, while DRIVE AGX Pegasus, designed for Level 5 robotaxis, delivers 320 TOPS, enabling the diverse and redundant deep-learning algorithm necessary for safe autonomous driving, according to NVIDIA's official blog.
Singulato Motors intends to develop Level 3 autonomous driving system based on the DRIVE AGX Xavier platform and utilize the R&D outcome in mass-produced vehicles as soon as possible. What's more, the EV company plans to upgrade the system to the Level 4 via OTA (Over-The-Air) as part of later-stage development.
Using the DRIVE AGX Xavier platform, the startup is ambitious to achieve Level 3 or higher level of autonomous driving application which can be easily upgraded without changing in-vehicle hardware once sensors are integrated into the vehicle and NVIDIA's platform. In addition, the system can automatically upgrade itself by constantly collecting data and learning from data and ambient.
