DeepWay, a joint venture between Baidu and Lionbridge, focuses on developing and manufacturing intelligent new energy heavy-duty trucks and offers truck-oriented intelligent driving solutions.
The Xingtu is equipped with over 500 TOPS computing power and ultra-long-distance sensing capability of over 1 kilometer. It is designed to enable L3 autonomous driving on highway trunk routes. Its self-developed 450kWh battery allows a 300-kilometer trip while loading 49 tons of cargo and only needs one hour to charge. In addition, with the venture’s quick-swap solution, truck drivers only need six minutes to change batteries.

The Xingtu can help to reduce energy consumption, operation costs and improve overall efficiency. In addition, DeepWay plans to upgrade the new truck to L4 autonomous driving capabilities on the same routes between 2024 to 2026.
After eight years of experience in the autonomous driving field, Baidu is in the lead of the industry. By the first half of 2021, the company has accumulated 14 million kilometers of autonomous transportation service testing mileage. Baidu is active in intelligent passenger vehicles, Robotaxi, Robobus, and intelligent freight territories.
In the near future, DeepWay aims to focus on R&D and manufacturing of smart new energy heavy-duty trucks and promote the commercialization of L4 autonomous driving technology in China truck freight industry.
