BYD invests in Baidu-backed AI chip maker Kunlunxin
Beijing (Gasgoo)- Kunlunxin (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. (“Kunlunxin”) recently added BYD and other entities onto its list of shareholders, according to the Chinese corporate database Tianyancha.

Kunlunxin is formerly known as the intelligent chip and architecture department of Baidu. The company completed its independent financing in April 2021, with an initial valuation of approximately 13 billion yuan.
The company's team was one of the earliest to lay out the field of AI acceleration in China, and has been deeply involved in this field for more than a decade. As an AI chip enterprise with deep accumulation in system architecture, chip implementation, software systems, and scenario applications, Kunlunxin is committed to providing general, easy-to-use, and high-performance computing power for developers.
The company has successfully launched two generations of general-purpose AI computing processor products, namely, Kunlunxin 1st-generation AI chip, Kunlunxin 2nd-generation AI chip, and a variety of AI acceleration cards based on self-developed chips, the K100, K200, R200 series, and AI accelerator group R480-X8. Currently, the company also has other next-generation AI chips, AI acceleration cards, etc. under development.
