CATL, Jaguar Land Rover sign letter of intent on strategic cooperation

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Luxury automaker Jaguar Land Rover and Contemporary Amperex Technology Limited (CATL) signed a letter of intent on strategic cooperation on Apr. 25, according to Jaguar Land Rover. Under this letter of intent, both parties will actively deepen cooperation in battery technology area of future vehicles and jointly research and develop vehicle power battery technologies. The successful signing of the cooperation intent will help promote Jaguar Land Rover to make breakthroughs in NEV technology area in China.

CATL, a battery maker who focuses on R&D, production and sales of power battery and energy storage systems for NEVs, is dedicated to providing class-leading solutions to NEV application worldwide. In the future, Jaguar Land Rover and CATL will conduct cooperation and evaluation in core technologies of EV battery to better meet customers' demand.

Pan Qing, global board of management of Jaguar Land Rover, president of Jaguar Land Rover China and board of directors of Chery Jaguar Land Rover, noted that Jaguar Land Rover has made breakthroughs in vehicle electrification area and offers excellent EV model products for customers. At the same time, Jaguar Land Rover's exploration in cooperating with CATL will help Jaguar Land Rover to research and develop core technologies of battery, thus facilitate Jaguar Land Rover's deployment in NEV field.
