Installed capacity of power battery reaches 2.87GWh in June
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- China's installed capacity of power battery for new energy vehicles (NEV) reached 2.87GWh in June, leaping 33.58% year on year while sliding 36.57% month on month, according to the Power battery application branch of China Industrial Association of Power Sources. From January to June, the cumulative installed capacity of NEV batteries reached 15.45GWh.
As to specific model types, the installed power capacity of new energy passenger vehicles reached 1.85GWh in June, up 2.01% month on month. New energy buses saw installed power capacity plunge 65.85% month on month in June. New energy specialty vehicles experienced a month-on-month decline of 35.48% to 0.2GWh in June.
In terms of battery types, the installed capacity of NCA/NMC batteries reached 1.81GWh, taking up 63.01% of the total installed capacity. The installed capacity of lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, lithium-manganese spinel (LMO) batteries and lithium titanate (LTO) batteries reached 1.01Gwh, 0.04Gwh and 0.01Gwh respectively in June, counting for 35.16%, 1.38% and 0.46% respectively.
In June, with installed capacity totaling 1.08GWh, CATL led the pack of all battery makers, taking up 37.77% of the total installed capacity in June. BYD ranked second with installed capacity of 0.78GWh and market share of 27.08%. Farasis Energy's installed capacity reached 0.17GWh in June with market shares reaching 6.05%, after CATL and BYD.
