Beijing eyes 700,000 EV charging piles by 2025
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Beijing aims to deploy 700,000 EV charging piles and 74 hydrogen-refueling stations by 2025, and public charging facilities shall be located less than 3 kilometers on average away from electric vehicles in plains, an official with the Beijing Municipal Commission of Urban Management said today at a press conference.

The aforesaid goal is part of the planning Beijing sets for its energy development for the 14th five-year plan period (2021-2025).
The official also noted that there had been 256,000 EV charging piles and 10 hydrogen filling stations in Beijing by the end of 2021.
By the end of February 2022, Beijing had owned a total of 98,243 public charging piles, ranking fourth among provinces and direct-administered municipalities in the country, according to the China Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance (EVCIPA).
The EVCIPA's data also show that Beijing had deployed 5,951 charging stations as of February 2022.
The construction goal of hydrogen filling stations is also included in the development planning for Beijing’s fuel cell vehicle (FCV) industry for 2020-2025. In this document, Beijing’s government says it will strive to put 10,000 FCVs on roads by 2025 and expects the annual production value of FCV industrial chain to exceed 24 billion yuan ($3.779 billion) by that time.
