Car and City: Foshan honored No.1 city by April registrations of all XPeng’s models

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- In April 2022, the monthly registrations of XPeng's three mass-produced models added up to 8,912 units, surging 80.4% year on year, while tumbling 42.5% month on month, according to the data compiled by Gasgoo Auto Research Institute (GARI).

In terms of April 2022 registrations of China's locally-built new energy passenger vehicles (NEPVs), XPeng ranked eighth among auto brands in the country and was credited the runner-up among Chinese startups.

The P7 was still the best-performing model of XPeng in April, while it only outnumbered the P5 by only 93 units. With 3,632 units registered last month, the P7 faced a 60.4% month-on-month plunge, but still scored a 25.4% year-on-year growth.

In April, Foshan topped other cities by the P7 registrations, outselling the runner-up Guangzhou by 345 units. Among the top 10 cities by April P7 registrations, there were six provincial capitals, namely, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Wuhan, Nanjing, and Changsha.

The P5 accounted for 39.7% of XPeng's April registrations. The all-electric sedan saw its monthly registrations drop 20% from the previous month to 3,539 units in April.

The rankings of the top 4 cities by the P5 April registrations were the same as that of the P7. There were nine cities recording over 100 units in the P5 registrations last month.

The G3 registrations reached 1,741 units in April, 1,722 units of which were the G3i. Last month, the first production model under XPeng logged an 8.4% month-on-month decrease.

Regarding the G3 registrations in April, Foshan was still the No.1 city. Other cities in the country all failed to have over 100 G3s registered last month.
