Aptiv’s 1 millionth set of smart cockpit system for China market rolls off line

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- The global automotive supplier Aptiv recently saw its 1 millionth set of intelligent cockpit system for the Chinese market recently roll off the production line at its manufacturing base in Suzhou, according to the company's press release.

Led by Aptiv's China engineering team, the R&D of the China-spec intelligent cockpit system platform involves the company's industry leading software and hardware technologies. The first-generation smart cockpit system was put into volume production and installed in complete vehicle platforms in April 2020.

The company said its new-generation smart cockpit controlling system features superior algorithm and powerful core computing capability, which can help the driving cockpit realize multi-screen connection and information sharing, and enable central processing for virtual floating dashboards, HUDs (head-up displays), and intelligent touchscreens.

Aptiv also said its latest generation of smart cockpit system complies with the newest WiFi6 standard with a maximum data transmission speed of 9.6Gbps.

In addition, Aptiv's new generation of intelligent cockpit system can support running of up to six high-definition displays and allows a cockpit domain controller to drive all in-car screen-based application scenarios, such as instrumental panel, center console screen, and rear-bench screen. The system also supports holographic projection and augmented reality algorithm.
