Volkswagen Anhui’s first BEV model hits market, starting at 209,900 yuan
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Volkswagen Anhui, the China-based joint venture majority-owned by Volkswagen Group, officially put its first battery electric vehicle model, the ID. UNYX (Chinese name: 与众, Yuzhong), onto the market. The new model comes with three variants, priced between 209,900 yuan and 249,900 yuan.
According to the German auto giant, the ID. UNYX is the first model from the new Volkswagen sub-brand of the same name exclusively for China, and is also the first model from the new Smart E-Mobility Hub in Hefei.

The ID. UNYX features a SUV coupé design with a sleek front fascia that includes a full-width light strip and LED headlights. The A-pillars are blacked out, creating a floating roof effect. The vehicle's side profile showcases a dynamic, downward-sweeping stance with semi-concealed door handles, black wheel arches, and outside rear-view mirrors, as well as 21-inch wheels, enhancing its sporty appearance.

At the rear, the ID. UNYX is equipped with full-width taillights, a rear spoiler, and illuminated badging. The rear bumper features a diffuser with gold accents, adding a touch of luxury.

In terms of dimensions, the ID. UNYX measures 4,663 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, and 1,610 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,766 mm, positioning it as a compact all-electric SUV coupé. Its size is comparable to the FAW-Volkswagen's ID.4 CROZZ.

Inside, the ID. UNYX continues the ID. family's iconic design language, featuring a floating central control screen and digital instrument cluster, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and a column-mounted gear selector. It is equipped with the latest ID.S 5.0 infotainment system. The model offers 360-degree panoramic imaging, Harman Kardon audio system, a panoramic sunroof, rear-seat air vents, and an electric tailgate.

The ID. UNYX's all trims come standard with the IQ. Drive, Volkswagen's advanced driver assistance system, which includes the Travel Assist 3.0 for full-journey driving assistance with interactive lane-changing function. The vehicle also features the IQ. Park system with 12 ultrasonic sensors and 360-degree cameras, supporting memory parking and intelligent car finding functions.
Power-wise, the ID. UNYX comes with rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. The rear-wheel drive variant has a maximum power output of 170 kW. The all-wheel drive version combines an 80 kW front motor with a 170 kW rear motor, achieving 0-100 km/h acceleration in 5.6 seconds. Both versions are equipped with an 82.4 kWh battery pack, offering a range of 621 km for the rear-wheel drive and 565 km for the all-wheel drive. Drivers can choose from five driving modes: Sport, Eco, Comfort, Individual, and Dynamic Traction.
Volkswagen Anhui was established in 2017 as Volkswagen's third joint venture in China, originally named JAC Volkswagen. In 2020, Volkswagen China acquired 50% of JAC Motors' parent company, JAG (Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Holdings Co. Ltd.) and increased its stake in JAC Volkswagen to 75%, gaining control of the joint venture. By the end of 2023, Volkswagen Anhui began producing the all-electric Cupra Tavascan model for the export to European markets.
