ARCFOX Alpha S becomes China's first L3 autonomous vehicle model to receive official road plates

On December 23, Beijing issued China's first batch of dedicated license plates for L3 autonomous driving vehicles, granting the ARCFOX Alpha S (L3 version) full legal road access, according to a post on BAIC Group's WeChat account.

The milestone signals a transition from controlled technical validation to legally sanctioned real-world operation for Level 3 autonomous driving in China.

Among the first batch of approved L3 models, the ARCFOX Alpha S stands out as the only vehicle equipped with LiDAR, providing critical redundancy and reliability for its perception system. 

Geely Galaxy E5 tops 230,000 units in cumulative sales

On December 23, Geely's Galaxy brand announced that cumulative sales of its E5 all-electric SUV have surpassed 230,000 units, underscoring the model's strong traction in China's highly competitive NEV market.

Since hitting the market in early August 2024, the Galaxy E5 has remained a consistent high-volume seller, clearing the 150,000-unit mark within just 10 months.   The momentum continued with the launch of the 2026 model year update on July 24, when Geely Galaxy rolled out five variants priced between 109,800 yuan and 145,800 yuan.

The 2026 WEY Lanshan Smart Advanced Edition Launched

On December 22, WEY, a subsidiary of Great Wall Motor (GWM), officially launched the 2026 Lanshan Smart Advanced Edition, redefining the standards of intelligence and comfort for six-seater plug-in hybrid SUVs with a limited-time price starting at RMB 275,800. As the first family SUV equipped with the self-developed VLA large model, it is no longer just a "driving machine," but a "family travel partner" that understands, protects, and serves you.

The 2026 Lanshan Intelligent Advanced Edition is equipped with the Hi4 Performance Intelligent Hybrid 4WD system, consisting of a 1.5T turbocharged engine and front and rear dual motors. The system's combined power reaches 422kW, with a peak torque of 822N·m, achieving a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 4.9 seconds, comparable to high-performance sedans.

WLTC pure electric range: 220km, meeting daily commuting needs with zero fuel consumption.

WLTC fuel consumption when the battery is depleted: as low as 6.5L/100km.

Combined range: up to 1343km on a full tank and full charge, eliminating the need for refueling on long road trips.
