2016 Toyota Highlander Reached Sales Peak, Ford F-Series Still Leads As US Auto Sales For November Increased

After a few months of 2016 U.S. auto sales decreasing, November finally saw an increase of 3.5 percent over the previous year when it reached 1,380,558 registered car units sold. Black Friday deals and post-election confidence may have helped US auto sales in November, according toABCNews. There was also a great discount for the 2016 Toyota Highlander last Black Friday, and this calendar year had two more working days than the last, both of which may have been a major reason behind the increase.

This recent statistic may just prove wrong a Reuters report that says that U.S. auto sales will decrease to an estimated 17.2 million new cars in 2017 from a projected 17.4 million this year, and will continuously decrease until 2018. Our thoughts are that there will be a major shift and electric vehicles will soon become mainstream vehicles, as right now, the 2016 Toyota Highlander hybrid seems to be the reason for the increase in sales.

At the top of the rankings are the usual models of pick-ups, and their duel and reign continues. The Ford F-Series is still in first place, without question, selling 72,089 units last November. The model of the Oval extend their lead thanks to an increase in demand of 11 percent compared to November 2015, a higher growth rate than its rivals, Chevrolet Silverado (+ 1%) and Ram Pickup (+ 8%), which ended up at 2nd and 3rd with 45,280 and 36,885 units sold respectively.

The Toyota Camry reached the fourth position to be the most sought car in the U.S. with 28,289 units sold. The Toyota RAV4 is fifth with 28,116 units sold and is positioned as the most popular SUV while arch-rival Honda CRV has had a weak month and dropped to the 9th. It has even been surpassed by the Nissan Rogue, which came in at 8th.

One of the great protagonists of the month has been the 2016 Toyota Highlander, which had won its best position in history in this market with a stunning 13th place finish. Its sales went up an impressive 67 percent, reaching 21,241 units sold.

The 2016 Toyota Highlander is located one step above the RAV4 and had received a restyling that has been very well received in the U.S. market. The Japanese brand offers up to five different SUVs in the United States, three of which are in the Top 50 bestselling cars. When it comes to brand rankings, the 2016 Toyota Highlander helped Toyota climb to the top three, while Ford and Chevrolet still occupy the Top 2 seats.
