SemiDrive joins hands with ROHM for advanced automotive technology

Beijing (Gasgoo)- Nanjing-based automotive chip supplier SemiDrive allied with well-known semiconductor developer, ROHM, for advanced automotive technology development.

The two chip makers began their technological exchange since 2019, and already forged partnership in terms of smart cockpit products. Currently, the duo has already started to provide solutions for clients using their initial cooperative products, which are ROHM’s SerDes IC*1 and PMIC*2 mounted on SemiDrive’s smart cockpit SoC, the X9. 

The X9 SoC helps improve the performance of various onboard applications in the smart cockpit. It has now been deployed by multiple automakers.

On the other hand, ROHM’s SerDes IC adopts an optimizable image transmitting speed function, which realizes a lower energy consumption. The company’s PMIC integrates the power system and functions needed by SoC, offering excellent power conversion efficiency while reducing the numbers of external components via an internal high-speed response function.  

Both products feature low-noise technology, and are compliant with the ISO 26262 functional safety standard. Through technological integration, the products can help automotive SoC realize its full potential, helping to reduce the energy consumption and vehicle size.

SemiDrive and ROHM will carry out their alliance into a wider playfield, covering onboard infotainment system, communications, ADAS, and autonomous driving.
