DiDi's KargoBot autonomous truck platform partners with Shaanxi Heavy Duty Truck

Beijing (Gasgoo)- DiDi-backed autonomous trucking platform KargoBot and Shaanxi Heavy Duty Truck (Shaanxi Truck) formed a strategic partnership to introduce the mass-produced X6000 KargoBot autonomous truck, according to DiDi’s WeChat post on May 15.

The duo aims to promote the scale application and technological innovation of commercial vehicle autonomous driving technology. The jointly-developed X6000 KargoBot truck possesses fully unmanned capabilities, enhancing safety and efficiency in logistics transportation.

At the Auto Shanghai 2023, the KargoBot autonomous truck, based on Shaanxi Truck's truck model, made its debut.

KargoBot and Shaanxi Truck have already signed the first-batch order for 100 units of standard autonomous driving trucks. The mass-produced model, based on Shaanxi Truck's X6000 platform and equipped with KargoBot's hybrid intelligent marshalling system (KargoOne), is expected to be delivered and put into operation in the fourth quarter of 2023. Furthermore, KargoBot plans to deploy over a thousand units of this model over the next two years, further expanding its operational scale.

Moreover, the collaborative model is intalled with a new driver console, which allows drivers to monitor the entire fleet's status, command unmanned vehicles to perform marshalling, roadside parking, and dissolve queues. It also enables one-click remote support, with remote operators accessing L4 vehicles for diagnostics and decision assistance. 

Currently, KargoBot operates over 100 autonomous trucks, conducting routine testing and operations in North China and Northwest China. As of March this year, KargoBot has transported over 1.2 million tonnes of coal and other bulk commodities, posting over 100 million yuan in logistics revenue.
