GAC partners with Jameel Motors to enter UK market

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On July 15, 2025, GAC Group ("GAC") held a signing ceremony in London to announce a joint venture agreement with Jameel Motors, marking its official entry into the UK market and a significant step forward in its broader European strategy, according to a post on GAC Group's WeChat account.

Under the agreement, Jameel Motors will serve as GAC's partner to distribute its new energy passenger vehicles across the UK.

According to the plan, GAC will first introduce its two global strategic models—the AION V and AION UT—to the UK market, with official sales and deliveries scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2026.

This latest agreement builds on the partnership between the two companies established earlier in April, when GAC and Jameel Motors signed a distribution agreement to bring GAC's NEV lineup to Poland. The UK joint venture not only deepens the collaboration between the two parties but also further strengthens GAC's foothold in the European market.

Demand for electric vehicles continues to rise across Europe, with the UK showing particularly strong momentum. According to data released by the UK's Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders ("SMMT") in May, battery electric vehicle (BEV) registrations in the country jumped 25.8% year-on-year, accounting for 21.8% of all new car sales. This growing demand offers a promising market opportunity for the GAC–Jameel Motors alliance.

Speaking at the signing event, Jasmmine Wong, Chief Executive Officer with Jameel Motors, emphasized that introducing GAC's NEVs into the UK is a key step in the company's global push for sustainable mobility. The partnership, she noted, reflects Jameel Motors' commitment to delivering high-quality, technology-driven solutions and supporting the UK's transition to a cleaner energy future.

For GAC, the joint venture represents a major milestone in its European expansion. Wei Haigang, President of GAC INTERNATIONAL, highlighted that through strategic cooperation with Jameel Motors, GAC will bring its latest NEV offerings to the UK, helping advance the country's shift toward cleaner and more sustainable transportation. GAC remains committed to providing high-quality vehicles that meet global demand for innovation and sustainability, reinforcing its position as a leading player in the international market.
