CATL reports 41% net income growth in Q3

Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. (CATL)’s profit jumped in the third quarter, as the world’s largest maker of electric vehicle batteries defended its lead in China and pushed further into overseas markets.

The company recorded third-quarter revenue of 104.2 billion yuan, up 12.9 percent year-on-year. Net income for the period rose 41 percent to 18.5 billion yuan.

From January to September, the company's net income totaled 49 billion yuan, up 36.2 percent year-on-year.

Joyson Electronics secures RMB 5 billion global orders for smart car projects

Joyson Electronics recently announced that it has received a series of new project designations from global customers in the field of automotive intelligence and electrification. Under these programs, the company will develop and supply products including intelligent driving domain controllers and multi-display smart cockpit systems to clients worldwide.

The total value of these lifetime orders is estimated at around RMB 5 billion, with mass production scheduled to begin by the end of 2026.

Unitree Robotics Unveils H2 Humanoid Robot 

On October 20, Unitree Robotics unveiled its latest humanoid robot, the Unitree H2.

Standing 180 cm tall and weighing 70 kg, the H2 marks a major leap from the company’s previous generations of humanoid robots. It features a bionic human-like face with eyes, a nose, and a mouth, giving it a more lifelike appearance. The robot’s movements have also become significantly more agile and fluid — capable of performing ballet as well as martial arts.

According to Unitree Robotics, the H2 shows substantial improvements in body coordination, motion smoothness and stability, underscoring the company’s progress in humanoid robotics.
