Beijing (Gasgoo)- On Oct. 31, autonomous driving company Pony.ai and Shenzhen Xihu Corporation Limited ("Xihu Corporation") jointly launched the first batch of seventh-generation Level 4 Robotaxi vehicles in Shenzhen, marking a significant milestone in their large-scale autonomous driving deployment plan. The project also serves as a key demonstration under Shenzhen's initiative to advance urban mobility from electrification to intelligence.

As the city's first intelligent connected vehicle innovation pilot, the program will be conducted in multiple real-world environments in accordance with Shenzhen's graded road management framework. Pony.ai's current Robotaxi service already covers Nanshan, Bao'an, and Qianhai districts and will gradually expand across the city. Local residents can book rides through the PonyPilot app or mini program to experience safe and convenient driverless mobility.

In June 2025, Pony.ai and Xihu Corporation announced a strategic partnership to co-develop an autonomous ride-hailing fleet in Shenzhen, with plans to deploy thousands of vehicles equipped with Pony.ai's seventh-generation autonomous driving system.

The two companies will continue leveraging their complementary strengths—Pony.ai's industry-leading L4 autonomous technology and Xihu's operational expertise in vehicle asset management and standardized fleet services—to build a safer, more efficient, and higher-quality urban mobility ecosystem.
